One of my favourite idol novels! Hajin is a crazy-fun character and the teammates are all weird and wacky in their own distinct ways. The system turns out to be an interesting character of its own and the plot is mind-bending in its own way.
Most of the story is slice-of-life style with storylines that just highlight the crazy-stupid hijinks the team gets into. I honestly laughed out loud so many times reading this! The fans’ reactions can sometimes be annoying to slog through but totally worth it because the reactions are priceless! Honestly, if this group existed in real life I’d totally follow them if only for the comedy!
But when the serious plot hits it basically bowls you over like a bulldozer. Mind blowing at times, tear jerking at others, and honestly sometimes the conclusion comes from left field but leaves you thinking “no way why didn’t I expect that…it actually works?” This is my second time reading this novel after it was drop-kicked from another site during the great cleansing a year ago. So happy to find it again!
Highly recommend if you’re a fan of idol novels or need a break from dark angsty storylines.
Word of warning: some sections of the raw must be so rife with netspeak that the AI translator couldn’t understand and inserted repeated versions of “please give me real Korean and I will happily translate it for you”. Breaks the immersion for sure since it’s an entire paragraph each time…
