The overall setting is like ‘Trapped in a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work’; zones popped up around the world, the zones can kill or brainwash you, civilians can accidentally enter them, agencies try to manage and/or close them, and the MC knows how to clear them. The main difference is that it has a gamer clearing game stories instead of a coward clearing ghost stories.

That said, this stories suffers from a lack of character exposition as if the author expects you to have read Trapped in Ghost Story first. Like, people equivalent to the Ghost Story cast members just show up, trap, backstab, threaten to kill, or attempt to kill the MC (seriously, I wanted to throw out the whole cast by chapter 30), and then the MC fangirls a bit before forgiving them and moving on. Things are also accelerated because he starts with the elite members in the advanced stories (you can imagine ‘4-Star trials’ as ‘Grade-A ghost stories’). There is no starter section where he eases into the cast. It feels like author was solely inspired by the later chapters of Trapped in a Ghost Story and thus decided to start with Grade-A ghost stories when they write their fan novel.

Anyways, the ‘allies’ being the main antagonists of the first 30 chapters is really annoying. The story is also a slightly worse version of the already written ‘Trapped in a Ghost Story, Still gotta Work’. However, that doesn’t change how the setting is a pretty good recipe for a story. If you’re not too turned off by my complaints, it’s worth giving the story a shot.

Thank you so much for translating this! I thought I had to wait a few more months for the raws to release it from paywall and be free-everyday-wait on kakao. I’m so glad I’ve found it here 🥹
