Chapter 376

Part 2, Episode 42.

Periel’s Gift – Gale.

An ability containing Periel’s spirit magic in the form of an enchant.

‘I wonder how good it will be.’

Since it’s an enchant, no matter how high-grade and rare it is, there are limits, so I’m not expecting something incredible, but who is Periel?

She’s none other than a high-level spirit of nature.

As the spirit magic of the first high-level spirit, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t excited.

Originally, I planned to use it when fighting Ivark, but there was no situation to use it, which was secretly disappointing.

‘But now the opportunity has come.’

Dohyun grinned and gripped Cheonbyeon to his side.

There happened to be an opponent who would be insufficient even with full power.

He planned to properly test how far he could reach with his full strength.

And it wasn’t just Dohyun.

[Guardian ‘Jihad Black’ summons undead.]

[Using Legion Control, all are judged as one entity.]

[Over 50% of the legion’s undead are judged as Lower City monsters. Mana consumption is reduced.]

[1st Legion Commander ‘Suffering’ has been summoned.]

….

[2nd Legion Commander ‘Ugeo’ has been summoned.]

[Undead Weapon Creation has been used.]

Groooan- Grooan-

Clatter- Clack. Uoooh-

Jihad’s undead legions, led by Suffering and Ugeo, stood with weapons in hand from the start.

[Using Sword of Light – Dawn’s Light.]

[Dawn’s Light dwells in Charlie de Ravion’s sword.]

Charlie was also immediately manifesting his Sword of Light.

Charlie’s Sword of Light was slightly different from before.

While the intensity and size of the light were still small, it had become clearer and deeper.

It wasn’t that his realm had risen.

[Charlie de Ravion’s legendary exclusive equipment ‘Symbol of Light’ activates.]

[Will of Light activates.]

[Gains high resistance to darkness and abyss. Also, status ailments received when entering combat with them are reduced by 80%.]

[Master of Light activates.]

[Light attribute affinity increases, and all light-related effects handled by the wearer are enhanced by 30%.]

It was the effect of Charlie’s exclusive equipment, the Symbol of Light, activating.

‘Seeing it activate means that guy is related to darkness or the abyss.’

Looking at how the mysterious egg hasn’t reacted yet, the former is more likely, but you never know.

The egg seemed to react only when directly confronted with abyssal energy.

-Ready, Owner.

-This humble sword is also prepared, Master.

Finally, behind the two who were emanating intense aura….

-Riza!

Eliza narrowed her eyes with an uncommonly serious expression and squared her shoulders atop Jihad’s head.

A situation where everyone was at full power.

‘I can’t lose either.’

Dohyun grinned and extended Cheonbyeon forward.

—-!

As if that was a signal, the blue lightning dragon that fell from the ceiling covered the entire surrounding area.

[Thunder Dragon Descent has been used.]

[The power of the thunder dragon dwells within your body, increasing all speeds for 100 seconds.]

[Lightning power dwells within, allowing extremely low probability of inflicting ‘electrocution’ damage on hit.]

[You can use ‘Lightning Movement’ twice during the duration.]

Crackle- Spark-

Perhaps feeling unease at Dohyun’s appearance with blue sparks flying from his hair to his toes.

The Eternal Knight, who had been slowly approaching with leisurely steps, hesitated for the first time.

Swoosh.

The aura of the creature that had been staring at Dohyun suddenly surged intensely.

The gaze that had seen him as insignificant prey was now sharp, like looking at a beast invading its territory.

Clear hostility.

[The Ill-Fated Hero shows hostility.]

[The Ill-Fated Hero is on guard.]

And it wasn’t just the gaze that showed hostility.

[The Ill-Fated Hero manifests ‘Corrupted Hero’s Sword Aura.’]

[Warning! Taking damage from Sword Aura will inflict 200% fixed damage.]

The weapon it held was something long and blunt, and from that crude yet uniquely shaped thing, black light was creeping up.

‘That’s a Dark Elf’s Sword Aura….’

An Elf’s Sword Aura is different from a human’s Sword Aura.

In addition to being able to imbue various attributes, it can grant unique special effects based on the individual’s soul level.

The decisive ability that, along with high nature affinity, made Elves called one of the three great races of Ellanis.

Among them, if it bore the title of Hero, it should have ridiculous abilities, but….

[Since the Ill-Fated Hero is not in perfect condition, the aura’s special effects do not manifest.]

‘It’s basically just Darkness Coating, isn’t it?’

Now that it was sealed was the perfect opportunity.

And when it came to Darkness Coating, Dohyun was confident too.

[Sword Aura is affected by Darkness Coating and gains dark properties.]

[Additional effects of dark properties are applied.]

[Using ‘Darkness Coating’ on 1st Legion Commander ‘Suffering.’]

[Effect is applied to all undead designated as legion.]

[Using ‘Darkness Coating’ on 2nd Legion Commander ‘Ugeo.’]

[Effect is applied to all undead designated as legion.]

Groooan- Grooan-!

Uoooh-!

Darkness Coating was a skill that was included in all of Dohyun’s skills without exception, practically his specialty.

Leaving behind the undead who had become even more ferocious after being stained with darkness, Dohyun gripped Cheonbyeon again and took a step forward.

[Using Reverse Heavenly Period 1st Form, Beginning]

Feeling an aura like Mount Tai settling within him, Dohyun activated one more ability not to be outdone.

[Applying Periel’s Gift – Gale to Cheonbyeon.]

[The more you move, the fiercer the gale’s energy becomes and the faster your movements.]

Already feeling lighter, Dohyun grinned and shouted.

“We’re going full power, guys.”

-Roger!

-Yes, Master.

-Rizariza!

Clatter! Uooh-!

The Guardians and undead answered spiritedly, ready to charge at any moment.

Standing before such creatures, Dohyun met the Ill-Fated Hero’s eyes and raised the corner of his mouth wickedly.

“Let’s see whose Darkness Coating is stronger.”

-….

Did it understand those words?

Clang-!

The Ill-Fated Hero glanced at Dohyun’s sword aura wrapped in darkness, then suddenly kicked off the ground and charged forward like a bullet.

Dohyun swung Cheonbyeon in response,

[Hero skill ‘Undead Weapon Creation’ is applied.]

[2nd Legion Commander ‘Ugeo’ swings his exclusive weapon ‘Adbaram Club’ to create fierce wind pressure.]

[1st Legion Commander ‘Suffering’ uses his exclusive weapon ‘Requiem’.]

[Contact with Requiem inflicts damage that ignores magic resistance and exposes you to the cold of the Underworld.]

[Charlie de Ravion casts ‘Lion’s Roar’.]

As if they had been waiting, the Guardians and Undead began pouring out their full power.

[Time Limit – 00 : 19 : 48]

Clang-! Bang!

It was the moment when Dohyun’s Legion clashed with the nameless Ill-Fated Hero.

* * *

The battle was fierce.

Slash- Stab-

—!

Cutting, stabbing, metal clashing against metal.

This place where both sides were wrapped in darkness, creating a soundless uproar, was truly a battlefield.

Graaah- Graaah-

The Undead from two legions charged frantically while wrapped in darkness, and at the center, Dohyun and Charlie were fighting the Ill-Fated Hero.

A fight beyond 2:1, it was 25:1.

But even while facing all of them, the Ill-Fated Hero wasn’t pushed back in the slightest.

Graaah-

Even during combat, he lightly blocked, deflected, and dodged the Undead charging from all directions using his entire body as a weapon.

[1st Legion Commander ‘Suffering’ uses his exclusive weapon ‘Requiem’.]

[Contact with Requiem inflicts damage that ignores magic resistance and exposes you to the Underworld’s cold.]

The black pillars that shot up in surprise attacks were avoided with ghostly precision, as if he had seen the future beforehand.

That wasn’t all.

[2nd Legion Commander ‘Ugeo’ swings his exclusive weapon ‘Adbaram Club’ to create fierce wind pressure.]

[Charlie de Ravion casts ‘Lion’s Roar’.]

Woooooh-!

—!!

Despite having an ordinary build, he wasn’t pushed back at all by Ugeo’s fierce wind pressure.

His mountain-like steadiness was enough to ignore even Charlie’s Lion’s Roar.

Even when Charlie and Dohyun launched combined attacks, he blocked them well with that crude and blunt weapon, leaving no opening to exploit in any moment.

The most absurd thing was that Dohyun wasn’t holding back his power.

[Veil has been activated.]

[A veil of darkness is created that only the caster and permitted targets can enter.]

….

[Darkness Authority – Two Pairs of Wings has been cast.]

[While the black wings are spread, darkness-related abilities are greatly increased and physical abilities are enhanced.]

[Straight-line acceleration is explosively amplified, and you can remain airborne for a certain time.]

[Abilities are amplified due to the title ‘Darkness Destroyer’.]

[All effects are increased by 20%.]

….

Lightning Dragon Descent with Darkness Wrapping.

Even with the Veil and Wings deployed, enjoying the Darkness Destroyer title effects, he couldn’t gain the upper hand.

If he hadn’t used even one of these, they would definitely have been pushed back.

No, what was really important wasn’t those things.

[Periel’s Gift – Gale is applied to the body.]

[Many movements detected.]

[Through many movements in a short time, the gale’s energy approaches its limit. Speed is greatly increased.]

‘…Without the gale, we might have been pushed back.’

He was certain that without Periel’s gift, he would have cleanly given up on attacking and retreated.

The gale’s speed amplification, which started weak but now seemed twice as fast.

Without this, it would have been difficult to overcome this overwhelming difference in specs.

‘The basic difference in weight class is too great.’

An overwhelming gap where each of his basic attacks felt like skills.

But there was an even bigger problem than that.

[The Ill-Fated Hero casts ‘Sword Aura – Slash’.]

[Warning! This is an overwhelming strike. Please dodge.]

—-!!

-Hkkiyaaauaak!

-Ri, Risa!

-Hheup!

“Ah, damn it.”

It was none other than that slash with absurd power that made curses come out naturally.

Kwaaaaang-!

-…Is this for real, Owner? If that hits, we’ll melt without a trace.

-Ri, Risa….

Power that wouldn’t be strange to cause instant death if even a sleeve was grazed.

Thanks to this, whenever he pressed forward and that slash was unleashed like a conditioned reflex, he had to create distance regardless of advantageous positioning.

Dohyun could only let out a hollow laugh.

‘This is supposed to be an incomplete state?’

Mid-to-upper level Eternal Knight?

Even if he guessed wrong, he guessed properly.

This was at least upper-level… no, an Eternal Knight beyond that.

[Remaining Time – 00 : 15 : 30]

It was a short battle of barely 5 minutes, but Dohyun was certain.

‘This is a monster worse than the Forgotten King?’

Even that Forgotten King couldn’t compare to this Ill-Fated Hero’s prime.

That guy was truly a monster.

Even that monster-like slash was a pure slash without special abilities.

If he was already like this, and if he found his true name and regained his complete power….

‘…Can’t defeat him?’

Seriously, he couldn’t see any prospect of being able to defeat him.

As if hearing Dohyun’s feelings,

[‘Ill-Fated Hero’ begins to adapt.]

[He begins to realize some of his power from life.]

[Warning! Please hurry.]

Exactly when 15 minutes remained, his aura became even more menacing.

‘Shit, this crazy game really made the balance a complete mess.’

It was a situation that naturally brought out profanity, but Dohyun sighed and gripped Cheonbyeon properly.

“Yeah, it should be at least this difficult.”

When had Main Quests ever been easy because they were related to something?

Above all, it wasn’t hopeless.

Phase 2 wasn’t just about him.

Ding-

[The gale’s energy has reached its limit.]

[Periel’s Gift – Rush can be used.]

“I almost died waiting.”

Seeing the notification that rang out with perfect timing, Dohyun raised one corner of his mouth.

“I don’t know what kind of ability this is either, you know? I’ll just hit first and figure it out later.”

Then he immediately thrust out Cheonbyeon.
