Transcendent Genius Trainer 175

Drip—. Drip—.

Meryl instinctively stepped backward.
But Yujun was faster. He walked straight into the heart of the Curse.

“No——!”

Meryl gasped.
She’d never heard of a training method like this.
A Trainer throwing himself into a Curse.
At this point, her retreating made no difference whatsoever.

Creak—. Creak—.
A powerful Curse was swallowing Yujun whole, tearing him to pieces.

Whoosh—!
Suddenly darkness expanded violently, creating a perfectly round space.
Shhh—.
Yujun was trapped inside that space.

“Meryl!”
“I’m fine. I’m fine, it’s just—. Sigh.”

She waved her hand, trying to reassure the bodyguards.
But her trembling voice was beyond her control.
She’d never imagined the training would end like this.

“If it’s like this, it’s over——.”
“…….”
“…….”

Her entourage understood the situation and let out sighs or clutched their heads.

“Sigh.”
“His confidence was overwhelming.”

The twenty-two Curses coiled around her never released their prey once they sank their teeth in.
Many Awakeners had brazenly tried to resist these Curses before.

The results were horrific.
All dead.

Regardless of her will, the Curses showed no mercy to anyone who attacked.
This time was no different.
Shhhhhhhhhh—.
Yujun was trapped in the black space the Curse had created.
He was probably being devoured by the Curse in real time inside that space.

“It’s not your fault, Meryl.”

Boom—!
As her Secretary was reassuring her, the darkness suddenly trembled.

“Something’s… odd?”

There should have been no tremor.
But it just trembled.
And the tremor came from within.

Boom—!

“Could it be.”
“He’s enduring it?”

In response to the bodyguards’ question, Meryl drew her senses upward and felt something different.

“He’s not just enduring it.”

Then she looked at her own body.
Her arms were trembling right now.

“The training… I think it’s actually happening.”

It defied belief, yet something was working through Meryl’s body.
Her Secretary asked in shocked bewilderment.

“You’re saying all of this is intentional training by Trainer Kang?”

It was impossible to believe.

“It seems so.”

Meryl, quite startled, regained her composure.

“I have no idea how this will end.”

Perhaps.

“This might actually… become real training today.”

* * *

A space dark as pitch.
This space created by the Curse was where all of Meryl’s Curses unfurled.

Weakness, Chill, Overload…….
All the energy emanating from the twenty-two Curses poured into Yujun’s body.

‘Oh.’

Excruciating pain.
His eyes felt like they’d pop out, his whole body trembled, and moving at all became difficult.
Scrape—. Scrape—.
Horror, erosion, decay.
The Curse weakened not only his body but began gnawing at his mind, and Yujun bit his lip under the pressure.

‘It’s more powerful than I expected.’

But having prepared himself to some degree, Yujun endured the pressure and assessed the situation.

‘In the Tower of Infinity, directly withstanding the Curse was most efficient.’

So when training a cursed Awakener, facing the Curse head-on was easiest.
But Curses in reality were different.
This wasn’t something one could endure easily.

‘Still, it’s not beyond bearing. And this is the most efficient approach anyway.’

Crack—.
He calmly observed the Curses and swung the Geumgang Iron Staff.

Boom—!
Shhhhhhhh—!
The Curses then coiled around the Geumgang Iron Staff.
All twenty-two Curses erupted in fury.
The Awakener they’d meant to slowly roast had resisted, and they raged as if insulted.

“Try to destroy me?”

Yujun smirked.

“Won’t work.”

If it had been the Crystal Staff, it would have cracked under this force.
But this was the Geumgang Iron Staff.
It contained the essence of the Kim Family itself, an Artifact crafted by Gyu-cheol, who had inherited the power of the first Family Head.
Shhhhhhhh—!
The distinctive golden light of Geumgang Iron began pushing back the Curse.
And with it, Yujun pressed forward.
Stamping the ground hard, pushing ahead.

‘I can see it.’

The core of the Curse was beginning to become visible.

Whoosh—!
But because the Curse coiled around his body, he couldn’t move properly.
Crack—. Crack-crack—.
His joints screamed.
His vision blurred as if he’d become a hundred-year-old man, and a chill ran through his body.

‘Breathe.’

As the Curse intensified, Yujun took a deep breath and calmed his mind.

‘I might actually die.’

Shhhhhhhhhh—!
-The Awakened Person Training System proficiency increases!

Of course, because of that, his Awakened Person Training System proficiency was rising sharply.
This was literally training with his life on the line.
Through his blurred vision, Yujun stared at the Curse.

‘That one first.’

It seemed best to eliminate the Curse of Weakness first, as it was creating the current state.

‘The opportunity is… probably just once.’

If he missed that chance, the training would fail.

‘I’d die.’

He said it matter-of-factly, but it was a terrifying prospect.
Yet conviction burned in Yujun’s eyes.

‘I won’t make a mistake.’

A powerful certainty of success.

‘It’s more intense than I thought.’

Without the Incubation Skill strengthening his body, he couldn’t have withstood this pressure.

‘I can endure it.’

-Deep Scan!

One step.
Following the visible cracks, he spun his body hard and swung the Geumgang Iron Staff.
Shhhhhhhhh—!

Crack—!
-The Curse of Weakness is removed!

The Curse of Weakness, its core pierced precisely, dissolved instantly.

Hiss—.
As Yujun grinned, the black space flinched.

“One down.”

The Geumgang Iron Staff proved more powerful than expected.
The material itself harbored sacred power.

‘Thanks to that, the Curse’s barrier breaks easily.’

He stepped forward again and advanced.

-The Curse of Chill is removed!

“Two.”

This way he removed five Curses in succession.
Seventeen remained.

‘Still can’t see.’

Whoosh—.
The Curse still hung before him like mist.

Grind—. Grind-grind—.
The Curse suddenly coalesced.
Faced with such resistance for the first time in this space, it seemed flustered, but it quickly transformed into an elongated spear shape and targeted Yujun.

Shhhhhhh—!
A massive spear of Curse shot toward Yujun.
Yujun regarded it as a training target.

Crack—!

Thinking of it that way made the training far too easy.

‘A training target covered head to toe in cracks.’

Crack—!
Yujun spun and swung the Geumgang Iron Staff.

“Training is easy when you think of it that way.”

-The Curse is removed!
-The Curse is removed!

Seven Curses removed in an instant.

More than half the Curses were gone; only ten remained.
Grind-grind-grind—!
Thanks to this, his movements became far more fluid than before.

Clang—!
And cracks began forming in the black space the Curse had created.

“You should have looked at your opponent first before deciding whether to swallow them.”

Yujun smirked and closed in on the Curse.

Crack-crack-crack—!
Clang—!

The Curse then shattered the black space by force.

“Too bad.”

The Curse fled.

* * *

Crack-crack-crack—!
Meryl startled and leaped backward.
The bodyguards rushed to Meryl urgently.

This had never happened before.
The black space created by the Curse was shattered.

Whoosh—.
Splat—. Splat—.
Yujun, emerging from that space, trampled the Curses—now thick and muddy—underfoot.

“Phew.”
“Trainer Kang Yu-jun!”
“Are you all right!”
“Come this way first——.”

The bodyguards cried out urgently to Yujun.
But Yujun waved them off.

“I’m fine. I haven’t escaped.”

Shhhhhhhh—!
Black smoke rose from Meryl once more.

“The Curse fled.”
“……!”
“……!”

At Yujun’s words, everyone stared at him in disbelief.
Yet it was true.
He had no injuries whatsoever. Moreover, he seemed in excellent condition.
Every cursed person they’d witnessed before either aged rapidly, lost their vitality and died, or was reduced to near-death.
But Yujun looked thoroughly healthy and intact.

“Now we can begin proper training. How’s your condition?”

Shhhhhhhh—!
As Yujun spoke, an enormous Aura erupted from Meryl’s body.

“Wh—, wh-wh-wh-what?”

She carries the Curse of Weakness.
Because of it, she could never draw out Mana properly.
Yet now her Mana moved naturally.

“I don’t need your answer—I can already tell.”

‘First button fastened correctly.’

“I’m not cold anymore. What on earth….”

Meryl gasped at her sudden improvement.

“Could you have….”
“I removed them. Twelve Curses removed, so you’re past halfway.”

Yet ten still remained.
But with more than half the Curses gone, the power that had suppressed her was breaking free.
And now Yujun could see Meryl.

‘The Curses were hiding her.’

But now it was possible.
Ten Curses—he could handle training under that weight.

Whoosh—.

“How long have you been unable to use your strength?”
“Five years.”

For five years she had never properly drawn out Mana.

“The Curse took everything from me.”

Mana, emotion, time—the Curse had consumed it all.

“You’ve suffered. I will restore it all.”

Bang—.
The training domain was now declared.

‘Not enough. Need to compress more.’

Five years of time.
To elevate her body, which had grown rusty over those years, he needed to compress training efficiency.

“Steel yourself. From now on, the Curse will pressure you intensely. It will threaten you to stop me. You must endure it.”

Then Yujun immediately drove the staff toward Meryl’s heart.

Thump—!
As her heart beat violently, the Curse raged.

“Ahhhhhhh—!”

Bang—! Bang—! Bang—!
Yujun wielded the Geumgang Iron Staff actively.

‘I’m glad I asked him to make this.’

It fit perfectly in his hand and executed exactly what Yujun wanted with precision.
Meryl bit her lip trying to endure the pain, but moans escaped and her legs weakened regardless.

‘Bearing it well.’

Yujun assessed the situation as better than expected, though Meryl’s bodyguards looked deeply worried.

“……!”
“Trainer Kang……!”

As Yujun continued attempting Curse Removal and Meryl endured, the Curse grew increasingly furious and transformed like waves.
Shhhhh—.
Shhhhhhhhh—!
The Curse crashed down on Yujun.

‘Learning capacity is insufficient.’

“You’ve been swallowing people whole until now.”

Crack—!
In the torrent of Curses washing over him like waves, Yujun spoke.

“I’ll be your opponent.”

Yujun struck the Curse directly.

“Your Curse——”
