A Regression Guide for Idols Who Lost Their Initial Intentions Episode 169
Come to think of it, we’d never gone on a trip together that wasn’t for a variety show.
Compared to before my regression when the word ‘trip’ never even came up when we were together, this was truly remarkable progress.
“Alright, where do you want to go?”
When I asked while tilting my chin, Kim Dobin shouted as if he’d been waiting for this.
“Hawaii!”
“Dobin, have you lost your mind?”
Since Seo Yehyeon said what I wanted to say, my initial intentions score didn’t need to drop.
“Why not? We have that Hawaii trip voucher we got as the prize when we won .”
“Dobin, you don’t think it’s possible to leave for Hawaii tomorrow with that, do you?”
At Gyeon Hajun’s kind customized explanation, Kim Dobin’s shoulders drooped.
So that’s why he brought up the trip – his goal was Hawaii. Give me back my emotions.
“Oh right, I forgot about that. When does it expire?”
“5 years.”
“We still have some time left.”
We can go once before the 5 years are up. While I was peacefully calculating the remaining days, Seo Yehyeon shook his head vigorously with a disgusted expression.
“Wow, I still remember it vividly. Those horrible days when we survived on just lettuce and cucumber.”
“It only worked because it was you, hyung. If any of the four of us had done it, all the money would’ve gone to food expenses.”
“Huh, do you remember that, Yehyeon hyung? I only remember eating pizza until I was full.”
“Yeah, you little devils. When I watched the show, Altair’s members suggested settling for bag snacks first. Meanwhile, certain people were singing songs about chicken and pizza.”
Seo Yehyeon ground his teeth as if just thinking about it made him furious.
“So where are we going for the trip? Let’s exclude overseas destinations for now.”
At Gyeon Hajun’s words, I knocked Kim Dobin to the floor and lay down with my head against the sofa armrest, grumbling.
“What trip without any plans? Let’s just stay at the dormitory. I absolutely hate unplanned trips.”
“Then let’s go to a valley! My aunt runs a pension near Hongcheon Valley. Let me call and ask her!”
And Kim Dobin made the call before we could stop him. After chatting with the person on the other end, Kim Dobin pulled the phone slightly away from his ear and asked us.
“Hyungs, how many nights will we stay?”
“2 nights 3 days? 3 nights 4 days?”
“I don’t know, if it’s fun we’ll stay 3 nights, if it’s boring we’ll stay 2 nights and come back.”
After continuing his conversation with his aunt, Kim Dobin hung up with a bright face.
“She said a broadcasting station is coming to film at 3 PM on July 2nd. We just need to vacate before then. No charge, just clean up nicely before leaving.”
“What, is it a famous pension? Broadcasting stations come to film there?”
“No? It’s not particularly famous. Even during peak season there are no people, so I heard from mom that my aunt is considering whether to sell that pension. Suddenly a broadcast… The valley where the pension is located is completely remote with very few people.”
Kim Dobin scratched the back of his head. A place with no people was actually welcome. It would be awkward to wear masks and hats even at the valley.
Since we decided to leave tomorrow, we needed to shop first, so we armed ourselves with masks and hats and swept charcoal for barbecue, meat, watermelon, alcohol and snacks, ramen, fruits, drinks, bottled water, soup ingredients, tubes, an air pump, etc. into our cart at the mart.
I poked Kim Dobin, who kept looking around, and whispered in a low voice.
“Hey, don’t be so conscious of it. You look more suspicious. Don’t draw attention here.”
“Honestly, we can’t help but look suspicious. Five men bundled up like this – we’re either celebrities or a criminal organization.”
“Don’t worry, everyone’s dressed in black so they’ll think we’re a criminal organization.”
We completed our shopping so perfectly that no mart sighting stories would surface, and packed our luggage in two suitcases in advance.
I was the only one who could transport these guys, being the only one with a personal car, driver’s license, and ability to drive.
It seemed a bit early to get a Ferrari, so I got a decent domestic SUV.
“Eden hyung, you’re so cool!”
“Ooh, so mature!”
“Just put on your seatbelts.”
I set the navigation to the address Kim Dobin gave me and departed early in the morning for Hongcheon Valley in Gangwon Province. Since we left early, we arrived in 2 hours.
The cozy-sized private pension had two rooms, a living room, and two bathrooms.
It was a bit old but clean and decent. There was even karaoke equipment.
Kim Dobin looked around and exclaimed in admiration.
“Wow, it’s better than I thought?”
“This is your aunt’s place? You’ve never been here before?”
“Our family prefers the ocean over valleys. My aunt never really invited us either.”
Kim Dobin replied while setting down the suitcase with his and Ryu Jaehee’s luggage to one side.
I approached the refrigerator to put the groceries in first, and there was a post-it note stuck on the refrigerator door.
-Karaoke machine is broken, don’t try to operate it
-Don’t go to the valley at night
-Don’t use the master bedroom bathroom
-If the small room light doesn’t turn on, sprinkle salt in the corner of the window
I skimmed the memo scrawled in pen. Nothing particularly important.
“Aw, what? The karaoke machine is broken?”
“Maybe it’s fixed now, so let’s try turning it on tonight.”
“Why can’t we use the master bedroom bathroom? It’ll be inconvenient to wash up with just one bathroom after playing in the water.”
“Maybe the toilet is broken? Washing up might be okay.”
I chatted with Ryu Jaehee while finishing organizing the groceries in the refrigerator.
We enthusiastically pumped air into the tubes we bought with the pump to inflate them, then without even deciding on rooms, immediately ran into the valley in front of the pension.
Since it was still early July, the valley water was slightly cold but not unbearably so.
“Wow, the water is so clear!”
“Eden hyung, is the water deep there?”
“Yeah, my feet touch the bottom, but Kim Dobin, don’t come without a tube. You’ll drown.”
“Ah, there’s only a 4cm difference between you and me, hyung!”
Since none of the Rev members disliked water, everyone entered the valley and was busy playing and splashing around.
With no people and no cameras around, we all let loose and had fun splashing water at each other and forcing each other into the water.
“There’s a fish!”
“Ryu Jae, you’ll never catch it!”
“I caught it!”
“Wow, what? That’s crazy! Your reflexes are insane!”
The youngest line guys were focused on catching fish with their hands, while the three of us peacefully floated on the valley water in our tubes.
Since it wasn’t the ocean, we didn’t have to worry about being swept away by waves.
“Ah, so peaceful.”
Gyeon Hajun nodded at my murmur.
“Right. It’s really peaceful.”
“I agree.”
Seo Yehyeon, sprawled on his tube, covered his face with his hat and added a comment.
“Whenever someone makes flag statements like that, something always happens.”
Kim Dobin, who had failed to catch his fifth fish, whispered to Ryu Jaehee in a serious voice.
“There he goes again, saying useless things.”
At my scolding, Kim Dobin shut his mouth. We played in the water losing track of time, and when the sun began to set, we reluctantly came out of the valley.
We roughly dried ourselves with towels we’d brought, and after an intense rock-paper-scissors game, the bathing order was decided.
Fortunately, Seo Yehyeon, who takes disgustingly long showers, was last, so no one complained.
Since I was tired from waking up early, shopping, and driving, and everyone was exhausted from the intense water play, the barbecue was postponed until tomorrow.
Instead, we had a drinking session with easy-to-prepare snacks. Of course, Kim Dobin and Ryu Jaehee couldn’t even touch alcohol.
Kim Dobin whined about why he couldn’t drink when he was twenty, but at my scolding asking if we should exclude only the youngest member, he quietly poured a soft drink into his glass.
“But why did you fight with your sister?”
“If you fought so badly that you came back to Seoul in less than a day, just how badly did you fight…”
At our questions, Seo Yehyeon slammed down his beer and soju mix glass with a thud and fumed.
“No! Seo Nahyeon keeps saying our Caesar looks like Yoon Eden!”
I see. So I was the cause of the sibling fight. They really fight over everything.
Whether I sighed with the meaning that I found it pathetic or not, Seo Yehyeon continued to vent his indignation.
“What kind of nonsense is that to say about our Caesar! There are things you should say and things you shouldn’t! Our Caesar is way cuter!”
I had absolutely no desire to compete in a cuteness contest with someone else’s cat. Especially if that cat was female.
“Yeah, yeah. Your cat is much cuter. Happy now?”
“Why are you stating such an obvious fact?”
Seo Yehyeon, whose face was slightly flushed red from the alcohol, asked me. At his expression that genuinely showed he didn’t understand, I got heated and downed the beer-soju mix in front of me in one shot.
Even though I had exceeded the system’s limit of one bottle of soju, no notification rang saying my initial intentions had decreased.
‘Finally, the system relaxed the drinking standards for places other than bars!’
I was moved to tears by the system’s growth.
“It would be perfect if there was karaoke here too! Let’s try turning on the karaoke machine!”
“Come on, you guys haven’t even been drinking. And the karaoke machine is broken, over there-”
“Huh? The karaoke machine is turning on?”
The mirror ball attached to the ceiling began to move slowly.
It was somewhat funny that guys whose job was singing were singing even during their vacation, but since there were no cameras, everyone sang their hearts out with songs they wanted to sing.
I was enthusiastically belting out Taker Hyung’s rap while self-censoring F-words due to my initial intentions when suddenly the song cut off.
“Who canceled it?”
Kim Dobin, who was holding the karaoke remote, made X’s with both hands and waved them frantically with a very wronged expression.
Frowning, I selected another Korean hip-hop song. This time Kim Dobin placed the remote far away.
Again, while I was in the middle of enthusiastically singing, the song cut off.
“Ah, why does it cut off only when I rap!”
“The karaoke machine must hate rap. Try changing genres, Hyung.”
Grumbling, I switched to a ballad, and this time the song didn’t cut off.
“Oh, 98 points.”
“What’s with the scoring criteria? Why is Yoon Eden’s score higher than Hajun’s?”
“Jun, let’s go for 100 points.”
After passing the microphone to Gyeon Hajun, I sipped my beer-soju mix while contentedly listening to Gyeon Hajun’s song.
It really wasn’t a bad vacation after all.
When I shifted my gaze to the screen showing the lyrics, it happened to be the timing when a man got hit by a car and died. Kim Dobin squeezed his eyes shut and whimpered.
“Why do only music videos where people die keep coming up?”
“Hey, all the old music videos from that era were like that.”
“Isn’t it a bit strange that six consecutive music videos showed people dying, excluding Eden Hyung’s songs that got cut off?”
“What can you do when all the old music videos were like that? They all died from getting hit by cars, dying in fires, or getting incurable diseases.”
Ryu Jaehee tried to change the background to nature for the scared Kim Dobin, but it kept staying on the music videos.
Because Kim Dobin was making a fuss about being scared, I gestured to turn off the karaoke machine for now. Seo Yehyeon, who pressed and held the power button, frowned.
“Huh? Why won’t it turn off?”
“Leave it alone. It’ll turn off by itself.”
And everyone headed to their rooms to go to sleep. Since there was one bed in the small room, Seo Yehyeon and Gyeon Hajun shared one room, while the youngest line and I used the big room.
Someone urgently shook me awake while I was fast asleep. I could faintly hear a melody sound near my ear.

Radicaler rigatoni
Kim dobin, you are officially one of my top favs you crack me up. Yoon eden needs to realize what genre his life is set in lol. Excited for that Hawaii chapter!! But i know it’s going to go wrong somehow. Plot “going in the right direction” is them somehow getting snowed in again. The ghost being a rap hater is what cracks me up though
after reading “-If the small room light doesn’t turn on, sprinkle salt in the corner of the window” immediately i realized it was haunted. Why did i actually kind of get chills when they were realizing all the music videos have death.
Thanks for the chapter translator!!! <3
